Welcome to Centralines : What We do

We carry the electricity that households and businesses purchase from any one of five energy retailers: Meridian Energy, Mercury Energy, Trustpower, Contact, Genesis Energy.

The retailers buy the electricity from the generator who moves it to the region using the high volume cables that span New Zealand called the national grid. The grid is owned by Transpower. Once the electricity reaches the region it is transferred from the national grid to the Centralines network and travels down the Centralines cables to individual houses or businesses.

What makes Centralines different from many other network companies is the low number of consumers for the total physical area of Central Hawke's Bay, and the conditions in which the network must be maintained - weather extremes.
