Board of Directors
As the sole shareholder, the Trust appoints the Directors of Centralines to operate the Company in the interests of consumers.
The current directors are:
The Board of Directors set the strategic direction, goals and policy for the operation of the company. The day-to-day operation of Centralines is the responsibility of Area Manager Trevor Hanson who relies on the support of his experienced team of technical staff and specialist trades people.
James Aitken
Chairman
James was appointed a Director and Chairman in 2000. A farmer at Omakere he wants to serve the community to ensure the Centralines remains a strategic asset for the district's consumers. As chairman, he aims to continue improving the Company's performance, increase business activities and enhance working conditions.
Jon Nichols
Jon was appointed as a director to Centralines in July 2011. Jon is a Business Consultant involved in a number of strategic growth, regulatory and performance based initiatives for infrastructure related businesses in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. He also has considerable experience in the electricity industry including as Commercial General Manager at Unison Networks Limited, where he was involved in major acquisitions, significant project developments and sustainable pricing strategies for long term assets. He serves on the boards of Ports of Napier, Nichols Consulting Ltd and the Mid Central Zone of Rugby League New Zealand and as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Josie Willis
Josie is a qualified accountant who farms at Porangahau in partnership with her husband, Donald. She previously served on the Central Hawkes Bay Power Consumers Trust as the appointee of CHB District Council. Josie brings financial and analytical skills to the board. Josie was appointed as a director in 2006.
Sam Robinson
Sam was appointed as a director to Centralines in 2006. Sam has a hill country farm on the periphery of Centralines Network and serving on the boards at PSIS Ltd, Agresearch Ltd, and Assure Quality Ltd. Sam is involved in the Project Leadership Group for the Ruataniwha Water Storage Scheme. Sam was recently awarded the Bledisloe Medal from Lincoln University for advancing the interests of New Zealand.
